On Life's Work, becoming better men, creating leaders, and more
Howdy to the 76 of us, up from 72 last time. I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m back with round 2 of Curiosities - a digestible download of ideas and stories for leaders.
Comma is all about helping fuel leaders along their path.
Here, I unearth gems of insight on the art of seeking, becoming, and building a life of significance.
Curiosity is our compass, and these gems are our fuel.
I hope you enjoy - and if if you do, I’d be grateful if you shared this with a few people you think would also enjoy it.

I believe work matters.
The problem is, we so often end up doing work that’s not worth doing. As a result, it takes over, and slowly bleeds the life out of us.
The point of work is doing the labor, not delegating it away. When we focus excessively on productivity, when our biggest concern is on how to “scale ourselves,” we miss the point of work—and, really, life—which is to find meaning in the daily tasks that consume our time. Like a bike chain catching a gear, there is a deeply satisfying *cachunk* that happens in your brain when you go from enjoying the outcome of your labors to enjoying the process of them.
There is a reason these people have to fill themselves with Athletic Greens and do cold plunges just so they can feel something. Eventually they’ll realize that no matter how little time their job takes or how automated their wealth, until they do the work to find work with purpose, it is all meaningless.
If we want better men, we have to be better men.
Two of my favorite leaders out there. I admire both Scott and Steven for their insights, but even more for their dynamism and curiosity.
They explore questions that matter, speak truths that can be challenging, and seek to serve.
Scott has more recently been exploring a topic I relate strongly to - the challenges that face young men. I believe it’s an important issue and well worth the listen.
Pair that with Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy on The Rich Roll Podcast discussing the loneliness epidemic
An honest conversation about the state of our disconnected culture, and the implications on all of us.
Connection, and leadership: two ideas I’m obsessed with, and part of what I’m working on in my life and writing.
Move the authority to where the information is.
Take control and attract followers?
What you want is to give control and create leaders.
Empower people with ownership. Don’t give orders.
