Welcome back to The Comma Project - a place for leaders and seekers, where I share the stories and insights that guide me along the way, in hopes that they might matter to you, too.
I’m back with round 6 of Curiosities - where I unearth and round up digestible gems of insight on the art of seeking, becoming, and building a life of significance.
I hope you enjoy - and if you do, I’d be grateful if you pressed the little ❤️ button at the top left corner of this piece, and shared it with a few people you think would also enjoy it.

Cyan Banister on Invest Like the Best
Nothing is going to be more valuable than what’s created by human hands in the future. In a world where everything is quick, cheap, and flawless, the things that are flawed have value.
What’s left is artisanship.
I wasn’t familiar with Cyan until I heard this conversation, but I am deeply drawn to her story - in particular, her insights on living a holistic, authentic life of curiosity, and the integration of life and work.
I highly recommend a listen for a wide-ranging conversation about life.

Jacob Collier on Colin and Samir
The challenge for creators right now is telling stories that expand over time, and building trust that lasts a long time.
You can engage people by reaching them, but the question that I find more interesting when it comes to success...It's not “how many people have I reached?” It's “of the people that I reached, how many of those did I move?”
And then the question becomes, for any artist, “what does it take to move a person?”
And there's only one answer to that, really. And it's to be you, the person, who you are, and to tell stories that are true. To tell the truth.
This is another beautiful conversation, full of soul.
Jacob has a deeply human and artistic perspective of the world. He’s a musician, but in my mind, he’s also a philosopher.
This conversation speaks to why we create - it’s to connect and to feel.
Art is true.
Art is human.
I also love what Colin and Samir do - the flow of their conversations, as well as the production quality of their work.

Le Good Life’s Amapiano Mix
Ever heard of Amapiano?
Me neither, until this video.
According to Google’s AI machine, Gemini, Amapiano is derived from the Zulu word for "the pianos." You’ll hear why when you give this a listen.
The backdrop to the video is also a breezy Cape Town summer landscape. It reminds me of my visit last year and makes me nostalgic.
This is one of those videos and sets that puts me in a bright, flowy mood, and I love it. It’s great to work with or to set a chill background vibe.
The opposite of poverty is dignity.
Dignity is freedom. It is choice. It is having control over decisions in our lives.
Dignity is the most fundamental of our yearnings - to be seen, to be counted, to be free.
It is this indomitable spirit that binds us as human beings, that is most fundamental to our humanity.
Defining our success not by the income we amass but by the dignity we cultivate - in ourselves and others - thus presents the greatest hope for the future of our species and our planet.
This articulation of a deeper understanding of human dignity shifted my perspective.
It added depth to my understanding of an important layer of life and our core humanity.
My essay last week was inspired in large part by this idea.

8 Rules of Life from The School of Life
The School of Life (inspiringly named) is the embodiment of Alain de Botton's work, focused on helping people develop emotional intelligence and live more fulfilling lives.
I respect and admire Alain’s work and perspective. He does what I aspire to: ask deep questions and uncover insights into the adventure of life we’re all on.
